Stand A Little Taller

Life has a its own special way of chewing us up and spitting us out, doesn’t it?

The past seven months of my life has been some of the toughest of my life. Maybe that’s why I’ve took such a long break from blogging– I find it hard to share the tough things with people. I guess I’ve just grown up in an environment where I’ve had to be strong for others and find it scary to drop that wall enough to allow myself to rely on other people being strong for me.

Because I love you guys so much, I’ve got a little surprise for you!

I’ve recently put some of my photography up for sale on fineartamerica.com and I thought that because you’re always so supportive of me that I would let you guys have the chance to get my photography at a discount price before anyone else! There’s only a few photos up on the site just now, but if you’ve seen one of my photographs that you would like to purchase and can’t see it up there, feel free to let me know and I’ll make it so that you can!

So just how much of a discount are we talking? I’m offering a 25% discount to Chrisselle.Com readers! All you have to do is enter this code: SULJFV and the product is yours for 75% of the original price. You don’t just get a photograph, you can have that photograph printed in whichever way you would like! Whether it be on a stretched canvas, a framed print or a greetings card. The choice is completely yours! Right now there’s a limit of ten discounts for two weeks only, so I’d suggest that you get yours while you still can!

Photography is a huge passion of mine, and it all started a few years ago when I first started attending concerts. I loved the fact that within a few seconds, one of the happiest moments of my life was in my hands forever. I loved that I could capture a moment that made  me so happy. Since then I’ve literally became obsessed with photography. I’m possibly my own worst critic. I can spend hours taking photos of the same thing, and only actually be proud of a few shots.

Then I met @hammyhavoc and that all changed. He made me believe in myself, and he made me believe in my artwork. I’ve got some of the best shots when I’ve been in his company, and that’s completely down to the fact that he inspires me to be the best that I can be.

The majority of the money raised from selling photographs will be going towards the DLYG project in July! We need as much support as we can get, and this way you get to support a good cause and have a piece of art to call your own forever.

Many thanks for all of the support and I hope that you enjoy my photographs.
All of my love,
Chrisselle.

You’re Just Like The London Sun

So I’ve kind of abandoned Chrisselle.Com the past few weeks. Truth be told I’ve been super busy, crazy stressed and not had much to write about. I’m still not too sure what I’m going to write, but I just know that I’ve got some form of inspiration and I want to share it with you guys!

First of all I want to  thank everyone that’s been supporting Don’t Lose Your Grip, the support we’ve had is overwhelming and I’m so proud of the project thanks to all of you guys! It means the world to me, so thank you from the bottom of my heart!

The other day I was walking out of a store when a man held the door opened for me and I thanked him. Now, that seems like a particularly ordinary thing, doesn’t it? But the thing that shocked me was the man’s response. “You’re welcome. Not many people thank you usually when you do that, so good on you for still believing in manners!” the man laughed, smiled at me and then continued on his way in to the store. What shocked me, and I guess kind of stuck in my mind was the fact he said that not many people thank him. And it’s true, which is a shame. I’ve held doors open for people before and it’s usually replied to with a grunt or a dent in the leg from a shopping trolly or pushchair. Now I bet you’re sitting there thinking “Why are you telling me this Chrisselle?” Well my point is that so many people complain that chivalry is dead and that there’s no manners left.. and yet do you even appreciate when someone does actually do something kind for you? Or do you thank that person that’s took a moment out of their day to make your day easier with a grunt?

Everyone’s more than happy to point out the faults in society, or even in the people they love most. But have you ever thought that you may actually contribute to the herd state of mind? Everyone’s so busy these days that the point of taking two minutes to hold a door for someone seems to be completely beneath them, it’s quite a simple thing, but it seems that people are forgetting the most simplest of manners. It saddens me to be honest.

I tweeted earlier that it was ‘time for change’ and a few of you tweeted me back asking if there was anything you could do to help. The truth is that there isn’t. The things I need to change are within me. And as cliche as that sounds, it’s true. I’ve changed from the person I was this time last year. I’m nowhere near as outgoing, or as strong I guess you could say. Things take their toll, and the past year has been difficult, yet incredible at the same time. And so it’s time to be that person again, and I don’t care how long it takes, I will be that person. I’m not going to take bullshit from people that think they can just walk all over me, I’m going to be the Chrisselle that I was, the one that used to put people in their place when they even tried to tip-toe across me, never mind stamp. So yeah, there’s going to be a few changes happening pretty soon.

I also want to mention just how proud I am of @hammyhavoc. On the 13th May I’ll have known this wonderful human being for 15 months. Such a short period of time, but in that time I’ve watched him accomplish so much, not just professionally, but personally too. He’s an inspiration to every life he touches, and hopefully one day he’ll stop being so modest and accept the fact that he is incredible and that people are lucky to know him. Hammy, myself and @fanboycraig have been busy lately! There’s a little something that you guys should check out:
